About Crabill Homestead
The David Crabill House is of late Federal design. Built in 1826, it is of the 1820-1830 style of architecture with both Pennsylvanian and Virginian influences. The home first appears on the County tax records in 1826. The house has two sections, the main house and the kitchen wing. The main portion of the home contains a parlor and dining room, on each side of a center hall and staircase.The second floor has two bedrooms and a small room. The parlor, dining room, and bedroom all have large fireplaces. The kitchen wing, off the north side of the house, has a large cooking fireplace with a root cellar below.
