We’re Back at the 2024 Springfield Farmers Market !

Ready for some great news? We’re back for our third year at the Springfield Farmers Market! We’ll be vending all summer long from June - September! This will be the 18th year of the Springfield Farmers Market and it’s so cool to see all the changes and growth that occurs each and every year.

You’ll be able to find us in our tent directly in front of our pop up shop in Sip & Dipity every Saturday morning from 9 AM-12:30 PM. Since we’ll have a full 10x10’ space, we’ll be able to have our entire inventory available each week. If you’re someone who has been wanting to come check out our retail space that hasn’t had the opportunity because unfortunately we’re not open much during market season, this will be your best chance to catch us and see what we have to offer.

For those that have never attended this market, parking will be available in the Columbia and N Fountain parking garage or if you come in from the south then also at the Heritage Center.

If you are someone who doesn’t follow us and know what we make by hand, that’s okay! I’m gonna tell ya. Sage & Oak offers 3” waterproof stickers which are great for larger phones and tablets, notebooks, coolers, music equipment, gifting, and so much more. If you’re not into stickers, we offer quite a few of our more motivational sticker designs as 5x7” art prints that you can frame and display or give as a gift. We also make polymer clay earrings in a huge variety of designs that are not only fun and bold but are perfect for completing your favorite outfits. Can’t wear earrings? We have a selection of polymer clay magnets as well! You know those trendy glass cups with the cool bamboo lid and straw? We make those, too! We’ll offer between 6-9 different designs each week but those tend to go fast so come early for your best chance to get what you’re looking for. On top of all of that, we have sun catcher window clings that produce beautiful prisms when the light shines through them and vinyl car decals that will make your car stand out. Lastly, we offer a small selection of our sticker designs as 2” acrylic keychains that are fun and the perfect addition to your keys. We do plan to offer more of a selection in the future so be sure to check back periodically and see what changes!

Just like last year, our goal is to try to improve our booth a little each week. From rearranging our displays to get the perfect fit to little things like shopping baskets and more decorations to improve your shopping experience, we’re so excited to see how far we get this year. We learn something new after each market and we’re determined to keep growing.

We love this market because of how diverse it is. Each week there are 40+ local vendors that carry a large variety of goods. From fresh produce and baked goods and honey to beautiful flowers and handmade gifts, you know you’re going to get something made with love. Many weeks will even have live music for you to enjoy while you shop. You can check the Springfield Farmers Market page here each week for a full list of vendors and other important information to know before you go.

Can’t wait to chat with you all at the market this summer!

Supporting your local farmers market vendors is essential for a myriad of reasons that contribute significantly to the community, economy, and environment. Firstly, purchasing from local farmers promotes the sustainability of small-scale agriculture, ensuring that these businesses can thrive despite the dominance of large, industrial farms. This helps preserve agricultural diversity and promotes the cultivation of a wider variety of fruits and vegetables, which are often grown using more environmentally friendly practices. Additionally, local produce is typically fresher and more nutritious, as it doesn't have to travel long distances to reach consumers, reducing the carbon footprint associated with transportation. Beyond the health and environmental benefits, supporting local farmers also strengthens the local economy. Money spent at farmers markets stays within the community, fostering local economic growth and supporting local jobs. Moreover, farmers markets serve as vibrant community hubs where people can connect with the individuals who grow their food, fostering a sense of trust and transparency about where their food comes from. This connection not only supports local agriculture but also encourages healthier eating habits and a greater appreciation for the effort involved in food production. Ultimately, by choosing to buy from local farmers market vendors, consumers play a crucial role in sustaining local agriculture, enhancing community well-being, and promoting a more sustainable and resilient food system.
